Anonymous FTP Server Project canceled
15.04.2006 • 20:49 [PHCN]

For some weeks we had a FTP server with anonymous access on phcn.ws running. This anonymous access is now disabled.

It was a little project, to see how many idiots find our FTP Server with anonymous access and want to upload something on it.

The result was, that several people per day had uploaded different films (most of that was porn). However, downloaded this shit has no one.

It is impressive how many people search for public ftp servers with write-rights.

It was a nice project.
Thanks to Fish for the management of the project.

Microsoft Unix (Xenix) Beta still this year
01.04.2006 • 00:01 [PHCN]DarthShredder

This is the year… the year that Microsoft releases the newest version of Windows and loudly new rumours the first beta version of Microsoft Unix.

We are targeting to make Microsoft Unix generally available in the end of this year, and the exact delivery date will ultimately be determined by the quality of the product.. So what is so compelling that our customers would want to spend money build to the Microsoft Unix operating system? Let’s take a quick look at all that Microsoft Unix offers a business.

First, Microsoft Unix is very easy to navigate and use.

When you start using Microsoft Unix, you will recognize familiar elements such as the Start menu, which is faster, more streamlined, and more helpful than in other Unix Versions before. The Start menu features integrated desktop search through a new feature called Quick Search which can help you find and launch almost anything on your PC. Just type in a word, a name, or a phrase, and Quick Search can find the right file for you. But more than that, the new start menu makes it very easy for you to navigate across all of the installed applications on your PC. Eliminating the slow performing, cascading "All Programs" view, the new start menu in Microsoft Unix can help you get something started more quickly than ever before with a another Unix.

Second, Microsoft Unix offers new powerful but very easy to use Explorers.
Explorers give you more information and control while simplifying how you work with your files. The experience is easy and consistent, whether you're browsing photos or documents or even using the new control panel. Useful for terminal server access are the new support for 10Gbit Ethernet networks. This made it possible to transferring large amounts of data, like also videos and pictures, in live on a terminal client.

Unfortunately, further information are not published yet.
